Rev. John Ferry reports overseas news that his youngest son John, blinded at the front, has regained sight in one eye. Injured, he was treated at St. Dunstan's hospital before returning home to Canada with the Canadian battalion. He had studied divinity at St. Paul’s before enlisting.
The secretary reported a petition for incorporation signed by nineteen residents and sent for approval. Christopher Sutton chaired and urged a vote for president. Dr. H O Redden was unanimously elected president, pledging to unite rivals and advance the venture. Rev O J Wagnild named vice president. Directors from Outlook and other wards chosen. Remington Walker elected permanent secretary. Membership fee discussion capped by a proposal for active and associate tiers.
Outlook congratulates Remington Walker on becoming Commissioner of the Board Trade. A born organizer and publicity expert, Walker led advertising for a major real estate firm in Edmounton, then served as mayor and chaired the School District Board. He later worked in the States, earning praise for his active public involvement and speaking ability.
The post office department reminds the public that remittances for the American army corps advancing into Germany should be sent by postal notes, replacing former post office orders cashed at French civil post offices.
