01 COlliWcai; vigwiwtii/iwu uuibvioiWAllMLEY.Jubilee Mk.mortal. — On Monday a meeting of those interested in promoting the Jubilee memorial for this district was held at WarmJey National school* when the rector of Siston (tits Kev. C. Taylor) presided. The chairman mentioned that the sum received and promised up to the present was £18515s.Mr. Philip Fusscll, J.P.* said they had other promises in view* which would probably bring the amount up to £200. They hoped, in addition* to make upwhat was needed to complete the purchase of the property, after which an arrangement could be made for properly laying out the green at Warm ley, when acquired. Mr. W. Haskins explained that it was not their intention, when the property was taken over, to put a burden on the ratepayers. For a sum of £220 Mr. Fussell had promised to hand the property over to them, and he was of opinion that now they had gone eo far they should go on and complete the matter. The chairman moved, and Mr. W. Haskins seconded* that the committee be authorised to make arrangements for the purchase of the property. This was carried by 14 votes to 3.
