Horse Race. k large crowd of people assembled at tie race track, about two ayes below thl city, last Saturday afternoon to wttness a running race between Tlee Neff's sorrel mare and a three year old colt belonging to Richard Overton. Tho race was set for 3 o'clock but for some reason waa not started till about 4:30, when they ran a quarter heat. Overton's mare coming out about 60 feet ahead. Both horses did good work, butNeflO* mare was not quite fast enough for the other. The raoe was matched at $100 a side. Several “plug1' races were run, among them was,Ben. Williams three-year-old colt agalBt Texas pony. B*n’s colt got left of course but he says It was the first time he was evejr on a race track, aad If ha-had a llttla training, could beat the bast horse In Cass county.
