Mason City Murderers Caught. Mr. Clem Tins, a traveling man of Mason City, was in Algona Monday and paid the Courier a visit, during which he told us that the murder mys tery of Mason City was supposed to be polved. A young baker named Henry Luckus was murdered there about two months ago. His body was found in the woods near the town, 4 half. mile from the place where he was supposed to have been killed.’ His head was crushed and his pockets ‘rifled. A de tective was put upon the =Case, and, it was only on Monday that he made ant arrest.He arrested a young’ fellow named Parsons, who after a sweating process confessed that he had a hand in the murder.’ He said he was induced, to join in the affair by an older man, one John Scherer, 44 years of age, an itinerant harge trader, a fellow, who, had no visible means of support. ‘They planned to rob, Luckuy, apposing that he had two Weeks’ wages in his pockéé, Luckug put up a fight and they downed him with a club and’ then mashed his head with a stone. They found that’ he had but one week's wages, and fook that. They probably did not” mean, to kill him, but having done so they car ried his’ ‘body, away to the woods. Men who do not work and have no visible Means of support, are an undesirable class i in, any community.
