Homk on a Furlough.—Charles Barnett, a respectable colored man of , the United States army, aud the prin-i cipal musician in the Regimental Band , of the 25th Inf., U. S. A., is at his home in Winchester on a furlough. He was among the very first to be sent to Cuba, and participated in the engagements against the Spaniards atEL Caney, Hill of San Juan and San-1 tiago. The 25th Infantry is one of the Regiments that established a reputation as fighters at El Caney and by saving Roosevelt aud his Rough Riders from being completely anhiliated. Barnett has been in the army since1888 and is now enjoying a well earnedrest. He is an intelligent conversation-list and his description of the various battles is accurate and interesting.
