The ladies of the Catholic Church I have perfected arrangement* to open ! Smith’s new opera house with a grand ball. The hall is large and aid be i n i lt;good cooditioo for dancing aud it is I the intention of the ladies to makf ft the event of the season. The ladies ’ expect to .sell 3oo tickets and should clear at least 1200.‘0. The music will be furnished by the Keiomerer Orchestra consisting of Mews, Jeu-ningHp Adams, Masonheimer and Guy-on and they have received a new supply of music for the occasion. H- E. Lewis will act as prompter- Tickets are now for sale by the ladies and the ball will occur Tues lay, Sept. 23d.The New Opera House saloon, which was opened last Wednesday evening by Smith Bros., is oue of the finest saloons in the state. The room n is 100 feet long by 20 feet wide. The | side walls and ceiling are covered with the latest design of wall paper, while the floor is of Oregon pine and will be coven d with liuoleuui. Two first-class wine rooms will cm built in the rear end of the room, which can be entered through a passage way at the opera house entrance. The front anil back bar were furnished by the Brum*- . wick Balke IMIeuder Co The front 11 bar is 1» feet lung and is of white oak with a polished mah*gouy cover. The n back bar is also of white oak and contains one large glass mirror 4-Hj feet, 1 in the center ami two smaller ones, n one at each end. Underneath the saloon there is a cellar the full length of the building aud contains a supply room ami a large ice box. A bowling alley will probably be put iu the cellar where Keminerer sports can enjoy themselves at the faciunting recreation Oscar Smith and Enoch Kyberg will change shift* Udiimi the bar. and it needle** to say that the New Opera House saloon will do a good business-
