Milner-Rosenwald academy’s teachers line up for the opening of school last week at the entrance of the school building. They are, left to right, Principal C. O. Lott, Wallace J. Merritt, Rhodia M. Maxwell, Willie D. Jones, Mittie Lightsey and Ruby B. Russell. Below is a scene on the school’s athletic field as the students line up for physical educa tion and watch two of the boys work out at “kick ball.” It is for the benefit of this program that Principal Lott is seeking a water heater for the shower rooms he and members of his staff, together with parents, erected for the children. Money for the materials came from the “tag day” the students conduct yearly.
