Wooten’s bank, t' and gave a grand free barbecue and ai Invited the public to dine and wine hi with him. l”Mr. Frank Bethune, tlie energetic H(l proprietor of tlie Excelsior saloon, h'i determined that Lippman should l)l not have it all to himself, so he had H a line barbecue prepared, circulars tv printed and distributed, inviting atthe immense crowd coming in, to dinewith him.Both were liberally pntrouized, and at the proper tirno the bnrbe-cued meats went like hot cakes, and were washed down with various kinds of liquor, and several persons became so full and funny they had to be locked up. Four or five hundred persons were served and very much enjoyed the free repast.Mr. W. J. Blade, of Calhoun, has moved to our city, and on last Saturday opened another bar and grocery in the building recently occupied by Tom McGill.
