LAWRENCE POWER PROJECTCulmination of a half-century dream and four years of record breaking construction, the St. Lawrence Power Project will be officially opened on Friday, September 5th, in colourful) ceremonies attended by offi-j cials and dignitaries of Canada and the United States. Climaxing the celebrations that commence at 11 a.m., the Hon. Leslie M. Frost, Prime Minister__ lt;of Ontario, and the Hon. W. j ‘Averell Harriman, Governor of the State of New York, will jointly start generators housed in the two powerhouses of the development, and send power pnlsing through the facilities! of the partners in the great en- j deavour, Ontario Hydro and! the Power Authority of the State of New York.Preceding this historic moment will be an hour of international amity, symbolizng the spirit in which the power project lias been and is being built. Famous personages of both countries will speak briefly ia honour of the occasion, including the Hon. Thomas E. Dewey, former Governor of the State ol New York, and the Hon. Joseph B.
