Books Will Be Ready for Distribu tion Next Monday. The task of shelf-listing the books for the few public library and ar ranging the volumes in the library building at the city fall is nearly completed and the library will be formally opened for the distribution of books on Monday of next week. The opening has been piously i gwalled, especially by the younger portion of our citizens, and it marks new era in the literary life s of the city. A large number of new s volumes including late and popular, ‘works, have been added and the collection now includes a large as sortment of well bound and service able volumes. The shelf-listing has been done carefully and with minute particularity in order that the start ing of the new library may be effected in such a way that a great increase in size can be made with out any danger of complications. Considering the extent of the work it has been accomplished very quick ly and the library will open under the most favorable auspices. It is expected that Miss Lutie Stearns of Madison, will soon visit, the city and give the pupils of the public schools practical pointers, upon the proper way to draw books and use the library to the best ad vantage. Minors will be required to furnish a sponsor to render thei r return of volumes drawn certain,, and many strict regulations must be observed. The system in vogue! _is necessary to the orderly manage ment of the library and when appli cants for books become accustomed to the methods, will work most suc cessfully.
