I1UL c* III LIVTllflJIof the Colored people of Galveston, no not on yonr life,but we simply wanted the facts known; for any other Col-ored people but',these'in Galveston, woujd take a determined stand arid contend for these things that are rightfully theirs or the y would at least do some howling to the scho'ol board'about the matter.There was a time when Cential' High School was f mo as for the high rating of its graduates, because of its strong curriculum, when we were barefooted chasing rabbits thru the fields of Victoria, our dad heard of it and wanted to ..send us here, 'far and wide whqn the question of a good school arose, Central High School of Galveston was recomended.Maybe when the School Board slices off another piece of . the curriculum, and because of crowded conditions, students will be forced to hold their class recitation under the school building, ;• then Colored Galveston might wake up with a'gap.It is no longer a question of what the sqhool hoard will do - for us, but what we will do for ourselves. »7 -9.If a Colored student is given only a half a day in school, and the white student is given a whole day; with the curriculum of the * Colored sphool a messy feeble collection equal to a well graded , county school, while that in the wlike school (supposed to be t h e . ’ same system) is equal to a college curriculum, how in the name of g .
