SMITH HORNADAY RESIDENCE DAMAGED BY FIREFire Extinguished After Two Houring \ Fighting—Friday P. M.The residence of Smith Hornaday, North Center street, was badly damaged by fire Friday afternoon. The fire, which is thought to have started; from the flue, had gained considerable headway before discovered. The volunteer citizens responded quickly and made every effort to save the property, but almost two hGurs elapsed before the fire was entirely extinguished.Mr. and Mrs. Charles ' Tansey, newlyweds, who live with the latter's father, Mr. Hornaday, consider that their “housewarming” was entirely too warm and very unfortunate.Fire and water damaged the furniture considerably. The clothing was saved, with the exception of Mr. Tan-sey’s wedding suit, which %vas overlooked. A part of the Joss on the house will be covered by insurance, although the furniture was not insured. The house will he rebuilt when weather permits.Mr. and Mrs. Tansey and Mr. Hornaday are moving to the Lewi* property, on South Vine^street.
