The occasion of the fifty-third birthday anniversary of W. A. Eckhart was made much of Sunday and a large j number of relatives, neighbors and I friends gathered at his home to give ! him one of the greatest surprises of his life. Everything went off according to schedule and Mr. Eckhart was the most astonished man in Wells county when he found all the guests assembled around his table. Glass and family of this city.RAHER—BURLEY.A very pretty wedding took place on Saturday evening at G o’clock at the pleasant home of David Raber, No. • 627 Marion street, when Joseph W. • Raber of Bluffton and Miss Anna C. Burley of near Huntington were united in marriage. While Mrs. H. A. Welker played the wedding march the bridal party entered the room and took their position in front of the bay window, which was decorated with potted plants. Rev. H. A. Welker performed . the ceremony in the presence of the 1 immediate relatives. The bride is the j accomplished daughter of John Wal- i lace Burley of near Huntington. She wore a very pretty light blue china silk dress trimmed with valenciennes lace. The groom is a son of Wm. Ra- j ber of Bluffton formerly a well known farmer of Rock Creek township. Immediately after the ceremony the guests were ushered into the dining room where a splendid wedding supper was awaiting them.
