Stone pleaded guilty to having murdered tlie six members of the Wrat-ten family in Harrison township, this eountv, on Sept. 18. The time consumed by the court in impaneling a jury, hearing the evidence and the passing of the death sentence was only three hours. Stone was brought to Jeffersonville Saturday night, and with him were also Williams, Kays, Clark, AVhite, Cosby and Yarber, the men implicated in his confession.Upon being arraigned Stone said: lt;:I am guilty, judge.” The case was submitted without argument and the judge instructed the jury briefly, and twenty minutes later they brought in a verdict of guilty. The judge at once sentenced Stone to be hanged Feb. 10, 1801, at Jeffersonville prison, to which place the sheriff took him Saturday afternoon.
