HUBBARD — Cara Hendrix, 6995 Club St. S.E., was presented a Youth Leadership Award at the fourth annual Circle of Friends banquet, which was held May 22 at the Avalon Inn in Howland, following the annual charity golf tournament, sponsored by the organization. Miss Hendrix, a senior at Youngstown State University, where she was captain of the women’s basketball team, has collected newspapers for recycling as well as participating in several food drives to help the needy. She was recently named Female Athlete of the Year at Youngstown State University. The Children’s Circle of Friends, founded in 1986 by Greg Cvetkovic and Martin Gaudiose, organizes and sponsors several fund-raising ac tivities to support area children’s mental health services. In addition, the organization educates the community concerning drug and mental health problems involving young people.
