.no THOUSAND INVITATIONS ARE SENT OUT FOR FIRST SCHOOL EVENT (Special to The Globe.) ; 1UpBOCK, May 25.—According to president Paul W. Horn Texas Techno a) College can have only one first cement, so elaborate plans have main worked out to make this first one xpressive and colorful affair. More than 2,000 invitations have been issued , out-of-town visitors, including many of the state’s ‘notables. Among the tew of the week will be a cantata, the Rose Maiden, and a pageant which will be participated in by 500 students. The “Rose Maiden”, will be presented . the College Choral Club Thursday oning, May 26, with the following ap pearing as soloists: soprano, Mrs. L. A. Wlliams; contraltos, Mesdames W. P. Cle and Harry Blocker; tenors, Jessie, Edger Shelton and W. P. fiement; bass, Mr. Dorrance Roderick. A splendid orchestra will assist with Miss Margaret Huff at the piano. The data will be conducted by Professor w. Rk. Waghorne, head of the depart ment of music.
