Old Norway Citizen Dead, jJohn Hasley, a highly respected , citizen of Norway for the past fif-j teen years, died Saturday, May 23th, j at the age of eighty-four years from rheumatism with which he had been j afflicted for many years. Funeral] services were conducted on Monday from St. Michael’s church at 9:30 a. j m., Rev. Father Drexler officiating, j A long line of mourners, testified j to the love and respect in which the; deceased was held, by following the; remains to their last resting place in j the Catholic cemetery.John Hasley was born in Baden, j Germany, inlS21. When quite young he came to this country with bis parents and settled on a farm in j Ohio, where he resided many years, j He was united in marriage to Miss j Mary Kuen in Ohio, and in 1854 they j removed to Iowa county, where he ; lived with his family for 35 years, j Thirteen years ago he moved toj Norway where he has since made j his home. One daughter, Mrs. Jake j Hofiord, and three sons, George,!! Fred and Joseph Hasley survive j him. His wife died six years ago.— Signal.
