WHEREAS the Board of Education of the Lordsburg Municipal School District No. 1 (herein the ‘‘Board’’) in the County of Hidalgo and State of New Mexico has determined upon its own initiative to sub mit to a vote the question of a special tax levy in the amount of two dollars ($2.00) per each one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) of net taxable value of property allocated to the school district under the Property Tax Code and for the purpose hereinafter specified as provided by Chapter V (1st S.S.) Laws of 1975 77-25-1 et. seq. N.M.S.A. 1953 Comp. Part 1 Supp. (1975); now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Board of Education of Lordsburg Municipal School District No. 1 constituting the Governing Board of said District, in the County of Hidalgo and the State of New Mexico: Section 1. A special election shall be held on Tuesday the 27th day of June, 1978, at which there shall be submitted to the qualified registered electors of Lordsburg Municipal School District No. 1 (sometimes referred to herein as the ‘‘Dis trict’’) the following question: “Shall the Board of Educa tion of Lordsburg District No. 1, Hidalgo County, State of New Mexico, impose a prop erty tax of two dollars ($2.00) per each one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) upon the net tax able value of property allocated to the Lordsburg Dis trict under the Property Tax Code for the property tax years of 1978,1979, and 1980, for the purpose of the following capi tal improvements in the school district: 1. erecting, remodeling, making additions to, providing equipment for or furnishing public school buildings; 2. purchasing or improving public school grounds; and 3. maintenance of public school buildings or public school grounds, exclusive of salary expenses of school dis trict employees. Section 2. If the question pre sented in Section 1, supra, receives a favorable majority vote at the election called herein, the tax levy imposed shall be for the property tax years of 1978, 1979 and 1980. Section 3. The polls shall be open between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. of the elec tion day. Section 4. Precincts shall be consolidated for this election. All qualified voters shall vote at the following polling places: Section S. A person is a qual ified elector of the District if he or she is a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age on the day of election, is a resident of the District on the day of election and has been a resident of the District for at least thirty days prior to the election. Section 6. In order to vote, qualified electors of the Dis trict must have previously registered with the County Clerk of Hidalgo County; the registration books of such county shall be closed to regist ration at 5:00 P.M. on the 15th day of May, 1978. Section 7. Voting shall be by voting machine. At least two voting machines shall be used at each polling place. PASSED AND ADOPTED the 10th day of April, 1978.
