Receiving letters were Jimmy Whittle, Scott Bowman, Bill Wisner, Max Kemper, Mark Husse, Jimbo Armstrong, Greg Beeler, Kenny Boyes, Kenny Maxwell, John Matlock, Jeff Johnson, Pat Maloney, Mike Kindred, Rick Riden, Brett Pagan, Kurt Koppang, Vince Beeler, John Darr, Duane Inscho, Sheldon Jones, Dave Lewis, Bill Husse, Greg Loges and John Mulkey.Kemper set a new freshman record of 2:18.5 in the 880 yard run this season. The mile relay team of Darr, Inscho, Jones and Loges set a 3:35.4 mark to top the old school record.Girls’ track picked Franki Medlock as the Most Valuable squad member. The honor is voted on by the girls. Karen Whittle received the Most Improved trophy. She took third in the state meet Saturday and earned points at every invitational meet. The Most Points trophy was given to Amy Jones.jump mark of 4 feet 8 inches set by Eli Balstad and matched by Debbie Gibson. The girls are steadily pushing the high jump mark higher and higher.The relay teams did well with the 880 medley running two minutes flat at the state meet. Gayle Leeds, Franki Medlock, Cherry Herrera and Eli Balstad passed the baton for the relay team.Leslie Jones set a personal best record of 6:12.3 inthe first time.was 8 seconds faster tha beating out sister AmyWith girls’ sports just coming into its own andcompetition becoming more-than-a-sometimes thing,Riden set two school records this last week. He broke the record for the mile, setting the mark at 4:40, and two mile run, cutting it 10:11.9. MaxrecordsSomesignificant marks were Gayle Leedstime of 16.3 seconds and the highLettering in track were Leslie Jones, Eli Balstad, Arlene Davis, Amy Jones, Janet Myers, Franki Medlock, Cherry Herrera, Cherie Martell, Gayle Leeds, Billie Jean Mitchell, Traci Mitchell, Karen Whittle, Kelly Hoey, Debbie Gibson, Sherry Dudley,Donna Chapla, Diane Johnson, Vickie Lawton, Jennifer Weber, Pat Murray and Irene LaHaye.Russ LaForge was the winner of the Outstanding Junior Varsity Baseball player trophy. LaForge hit for a batting average of .609, collecting 28 hits, batting in 26 runs and scoring 23 times. Danny Fishel picked up the Most Improved trophy.
