BIG CONFIRMATION CLASSAt the St. Mary’s Church Tuesday.Rt. Rev. J. M. Koudelka Officiated at Services.The Sacrament of Confirmation was administered to a class of 46 at St. Mary’s church, last Tuesday, by the Rt. Rev. J. M. Koudelka. His Lordship was assisted by the Pastor, Rev. Father Optatus, the veteran Indian missionary, Father Odoric, Father Joseph of Ashland, and Father See-both of Washburn.The Bishop was particularly pleased with the manner in which the catechetical questions were answered by the class, and gave expression to his gratification several times. He also congratulated the people on their beautiful church. His address to the confirmants was deeply impressive, the keynote being: “A Little While/ The lesson was brought home in a special manner by his Lordship’s reference to the death of three of his priests—all within a week, all in the prime of life.In the afternoon, the pupils of St. Mary’s rendered a short program which was enjoyed by the Bishop and the Reverend clergy.The three priests whose death he referred to were.: Father Pi Ion, former secretary to the Bishop, who will be remembered as the man who went, under a flag of truce to the Dietz home at Camerron Dam to treat with the dangerous occupants; Father Schmidt, Vicar-General of the Superior Doicese, who preached the funeral eulogy of Father Pilon and dropped dead on the street on his way to the depot two hours later; r.nd Father Lorenz of Glidden, who died at St. Joseph’s hospital, Ashland of cerebrospinal meningitis.
