Teresa Jean Demarcus Sutphen; belovetisisters, Tillie Gonzales and Anna Chavez, and by many lov-ing nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children and friends.She was preceded in death.by her parents; by her brother, Ralph Vigil; by her first husband, Raymond Crespin, andby her ffeloved son, Buddy Crespin.Jean was born June 1,1933, in Nara Visa, New Mexico to Rafaei and Felipita Vigil. She vvas loved by everyone who knew her and never met a stranger. A devout Catholic all her life, shfe truly embodied the Biblical quote “love thy neighbor”. She struck up conversations and made new friends everywhere she went. A fantastic cook, she passed on her wonderful recipes for caldito, homemade tortillas., green chile chicken enchiladas, torta de huevo, and her famous margaritas to her family and friends.Her grandchildren were the light of her life and it was rare that her friends and extended family didn't hear about theachievements and accomplishments of her Hita Linda,Pretty Baby, Hito Fino, Peanut, and Hita Fina. Thursday night dinner at “Nana's house was an event everyone looked forward to each week. During her life, her heart was broken by the loss of her son, Buddy and her body was overwhelmed in the end by her health problems, but her spirit and zest for life remained strong. We are grateful for her wonderful life and the love she showered unconditionally on everyone.Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial wascelebrated Friday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m at Our Lady of Assumption .Church in Albuquerque and burial followed in Tucumcari, Pallbearers were Matthew Crespin, RonCrespin, Edward Gonzo Gonzales, Mike Gonzales, Matt Romero, Phillip Jaramillo, Matthew Marcus Romero and Demarcus Sutphen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Catholic Charities of New Mexico, 6001 Marble NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 in the name of Jean Crespin Jaramillo.Arrangements are entrusted to Salazar and Sons of Albuquerque. 505-247-4124.
