According to a story carried in the May 12 issue of The Dallas Morning News, Jim Willenborg, a senior student at Texas AM Uni versity in College Station and a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Willen borg, of Laguna Park, has been named AM's “Athlete of the Year” Jim who is a graduate of Clif ton High School and has been at tending AM for the past four years on a football scholarship, will be honored along with out standing athletes from the other six schools at the annual South west Conference Letterman of the Year Awards Banquet to take place Friday night of this week at the Baker Hotel in Dallas. The banquet will be held in the Baker's Crystal Ballroom and will begin at 7:30 o'clock Blackie Sher rod, executive sports editor of the Dallas Times Herald, will be the speaker. Tickets are priced at %5.00 each. Previously named as their res pective school’s “athlete of the year” for the 1964.45 schoovers have been C.C. Willis, Texas Tech Knox Nunnally.
