Boy Scout Troop 167 toured the Belvidere Assembly plant on Fri day, March 10. The boys were equipped with safety glasses and shown the manufacturing opera tions necessary to assemble an automobile. Mrs. Robert Bean, Chrysler Emplyee Services, es corted the boys through the man ufacturing building which has an area of 43 acres. The entire plant site is aproximately 250 acres. The boys also toured the nine teen truck docks and saw the four railroad tracks( two of them run ning inside the plant) that serve the facility. The boys learned that the plant consumes about 125 tons of coal each day, and generates about 2,760,000 pounds of steam.
