Levi Mathews of Indiana Johns was here Sunday to visit his parents Mr. and Mrs. Caswell Bowmon and children visited with Silas Crane Sunday. “Bread is the staff of life” and that old staff has lots of crooks in it Vernon Storms visited friends near Tanyard Saturday. Park and Sheldon Toon were Bramble over Sunday, at Mrs. Doe Inman and day later. Inez of Indian Springs were here first of the week Visiting relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Winkledeck were at Elnora on business last week. Grandma Thames visited her granddaughter, Mrs. Dan McCarter last week. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Claud Bow man of Elnora, twin daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Bowman formerly lived here. H. M. Toon and daughter,aret were at Loogootee Saturday. Miss Inez Farrier filled Prof. Storm’s place Monday—measles. Several sugar camps in the hills have been running full blast. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Osborn visi ted friends at Elnora Sunday. Mrs. Emerson Holt returned from Elnora Sunday having been there on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Claud Bowman. D. A. Storm went to Blooming ton Monday to attend the funeral of his uncle Harvey Storm. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Wall were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs John Maryfield. Mrs. Mary Maryfield visited rela tives north of town first of the week. Mrs. Cla Fast of Kurtz is here visiting friends. Two coal companies have been leaning land in this vicinity for sev eral days. Drilling work west of town wil begin this week. Win Matthews of Camp Shelby and Olace Matthews of Camp Zachary Taylor were home last week on a furlough. The boys think they will be sent to France in a few days. We are proud of our boys and wish them a sa’e_ re turn.
