Surveys to Be Made.S. M. Kanakanui. first assistant territorial surveyor, arrived from Honolulu by the lost Kinau, for the purpose of making the surveys of the Hakalau laud tracts to be allotted the Portuguese associations. Work on the survey will begin on the first of July and will probably occupy several months. TMs work is begun at the instance of Secretary Atkinson, as a result of an interview with the Portuguese applicants during bis recent visit in Hilo.
