'The Crystal Peak-Verdl School Picnic,The schools of Miss PajHc, of Yerdi, and of Miss Ackley, of Crystal Peak, combined and held a picnic on the Mutual Ice Co’s, gruundp hist Saturday. . A game of base, Jall between•tho Yerdi Bangers at?4 the Crystal Peak Red Stockings, was the principal feature of the day, and was won by the Yerdi Bangers, by a score of 16 to 14. After lunch a foot race was made between Miss Acklev and MissmPark, for a pair of kid gloves. The race was spiritedly contested and resulted iu a draw. It was*then proposed that they should settle it by a ■game of croquet. The game resulted in victory for Mias Park. Jack Foulks, being Miss Ackley’s backer, very magnanimously agreed to pay the forfeit. There was an attendance •of about 100, # Everything passed oil’ 8pieucl idly and every one seemed well pleased and satisfied.
