By Chris Lee The Mount Dora Swim Club was entered along with twenty other teams in the Blue Dolphin Swim Meet which was held at the Alfond Pool at Rollins College in Winter Park on June 18, 1920. A B” meet was scheduled on Friday in which the entire MDSC team participated. On Saturday and Sun day competition was limited to only swimmers with quali fying times. Competition was very keen in the A meet events and MDSC swimmers made a fine showing with a total of 12 places. Results for Mount Dora entrants in the A meet were as follows: 13-14 girls Patti Silkworth 100 breast Srd 1:18. 03 AA Other MDSC swimmers qualifying for the A meet were Leslie Hoag, Jan Klamt, Jean Henns, Jeannette Riedle and Hollie Hawthorne. Six swimmers from MDSC broke A time in the B meet on Friday. They were Patti Silkworth, Martin Valbuena, Matt Werst, Angie Lee, John Stokley and Leslie Hoag. MDSC also came out with 16 first-place wins including several mul tiple winners. Meade is the late board chairman of the bank, Clement will enroll at Wake Forest in a pre-law course. At MDHS he played three years of varsity football and was team captain his senior year. He also played three years of varsity baseball and track, plus one year of varsity basketball.
