the church.Strange things happen in politics. Two years ago Silas Cluke, well-known young colored man, ran for precinct committeeman on the Republican ticket in the west precinct j or the third ward and was elected.! Since then it has been discovered that Cluke was not a resident voter of that precinct, being outside of the city limits and voting at Harmony Garden. William H. Barnes, another young coined man, has filed for precinct committeeman of this ward. No other colored candidates are expected to file.
