A Roller-Skate Hike.Abe Levine and Max Brody, age 16, two boys from Patterson, N. J., passed through Hobart Monday enroute from New York to San Francisco, attempting to make the trip in 100 clear days, (do not travel rainy days and Sundays) taking a message from Mayor McBride of Patterson to Mayor McCarty of San Francisco. The lads are making a “roller skate’’ hike wherever they can use them, and walk the rest of the way. They are now 42 days out, and say they are getting toughened so that they hope to complete the journey on schedule time. They claim they will get a big “stake’9 out of the feat if they succeed.
