A Thompson man died Sunday and two other men were in seri ous condition following an under ground explosion Saturday at an International. Nickel Company of Canada mine at ‘Thompson, Man. Dead is Dale Laliberte, 27, of Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mose Laliberte of Grand ‘Narrows. Reported in serious condition in Thompson Hospital, are’ Sylvaloo Mekis, 28, and William Gulka, 39 ‘RCMP said the men were work ing underground at the 2,000-foot level, when it was believed a drill hit powder at about 2:45 a.m. The men were employed by the Patrick Harrison Shaft-Sinking Company of Toronto at Inco’s T-1 shaft.
