FCC gives Lorain group WWIZ OKWASHINGTON - The Federal Communications Commission today granted approval to the Lorain Community Broadcasting Co. to operate Radio Station WWIZ in Lorain. The decision reverses a preliminary ruling in 1967 which had awarded the frequency to Midwest Broadcasting Co.WWIZ has been off the air since early in 1967, when its license was revoked for allegedly violating FCC regulations.The station had transferred ownership to the Lorain Journal without proper notification to federal officials, the FCC ruled.Stockholders of Lorain Community Broadcasting Co. are listed as Austin O’Toole, George Mobille, Andrew War-hola and Warren Finkel, each of whom owns 25 per cent of the stock.Other applicants for the frequency were Midwest Broadcasting and Allied Broadcast-* mg, inc.
