Planoite In WorkshopFor Speech, Drama StudentsActivities at Southwest Texas State University’s 24th annual Speech and Drama Workshop come to a climax this weekend for 54 high school actors—one of which is a Planoite—and eight high school debaters.On tap in University Theatre at the Speech and Drama Center are eight one-Plano ManNamed ToHonor RollWilliam Michael Haun of 1729 15th St. is one of 319 students at the University of Texas at Austin named to the College of Pharmacy honor roll for the 1976 spring semester.The honor roll, announced by Dean James T. Doluisio, consists of students in the College of Pharmacy who have maintained at least a B average for 12 semester hours of academic workact plays and a final round of Lincoln-Douglas debate All events are free and open to the public, and workshop participants will have the chance to demonstrate what they have learned during the three week seminar TheLincoln-Douglas debate is set for 9 a.m. Saturday. After the debate, the audience will vote toselect the top team One-act plays range from traditional costume pieces by Shakespeare and I^orca to melodrama and a short play written by Southwest Texas student Marcus Weems ofWest Columbia KristiMartin of Plano will appear in one of the plays Three plays also will be presented on Friday af ternoon, with another threebill scheduled forplayFriday night. Two more dramatic works will bestaged at 10 a.m Saturday.Presentation of certificates for both debaters and actors is set for 11:30a m.
