UNITED STATES LAND OFFICE.List of Patents Uncalled For—Lands Yet Open to Settlement.At the request of the commissioner of the general land office a list of all vacant land in Rapid City land district has been made out and forwarded to Washington. The list shows that there is a total of 4,498,425 acres of government land in this district yet vacant, of which 1,086,-425 acres have been surveyed. The following figures will show how much of this land is situated in the different counties of the district:Lands surveyed bnt not filed on and subject to entry under the homestead, pre-emption and timber culture acts:Butte county 170,525 acres.Lawrence oounty 85,300 acres.Meade oounty 127,140 acres.Pennington oonnty 194,620 acres.Custer county 157,980 acres.Fall River oounty 350,860 acres.A total of 1,036,425 aores.Lands unsnrveyed, but not embraced by military or Indian reservations:Harding county, unorganized, 690,000 acres.’ Burdick oounty, unorganized, 690,000 acres.Ewing oounty, unorganized, 575,000 acres.Meade oounty 207,000 acres.Lawrence county 845,000 acres.Pennington oounty 460,000 acres.Custer county 437,000 acres.Fall River oounty 598,000 acres.A total of 3,462,000 acree.It will be seen from the above figures that there yet remains vacant waiting for the homeseeker a vast amount of land in the Black Hills district, and the greatest part of which is well suited for agricultural purposes, in fact none better can be found in the entire Northwest All these acree will be settled upon, and even now the rate at which the land is going goes to prove that withiD a very few years it will have all been taken up. A better opportunity was never presented for securing a good home, in the best watered and riohest section of Bontb Dakota.
