(Photo by Dianne Byers)Runners and walkers compete in raceBy Dianne Byers Staff Writer CURWENSVILLEApproximately 120 runners and walkers competed in Saturday’Curwensville Susquehanna Classic 10K Race and 5K Walk.This is the 19th year for the race/walk sponsored by the Curwensville Lions Club and the General Federation of Woman’s Club Woman’s Club of Curwensville. There were many Pennsylvania runners and walkers as well as entrants from Canada, Arizona, Maryland and Texas according to registry records, The eldest participant was Martha Stewart, 70, of Clearfield and the youngest participant was Angelo Degrazia, 9, of Tucson, Ariz.Jeremy Bochert of Reynoldsville was the fastest male runner, with a time of 35 minutes, 50 seconds. Mindy Sawtelle of Indiana was the fastest female runner at 37 minutes, 44 seconds.The winners of male race divisions are age 14 and younger, Cody Bumbarger of Clearfield, first, 58 minutes, 52 seconds; and Cody Neff of Curwensville, second, 71 minutes, 21 seconds. Ages 15-19, Dylan Husted of Morrisdale, first, 38 minutes, 59 seconds; Michael Gralla of DuBois, second, 40 minutes, 14 seconds; and Gavin Voiosky of DuBois, third, 40 minutes, 25 seconds.Ages 20-29, Brian Lytle of Clearfield, first, 39 minutes, 42 seconds; Tom Berzonsky of Indiana, second, 39 minutes, 49 seconds; and Matt Gildersleeve of DuBois, 41 minutes, 47 seconds. Ages 30-39 had no entrants. Ages 40-49, Brett Decker of Curwensville, first, 37 minutes, 58 seconds; Todd Winters of Clearfield, second, 38 minutes and 8 seconds; and Mitch Radella of Cranberry Township, third, 41 minutes, 11 seconds.Ages 50-59, Wally Polaski of St. Marys, first, 39 minutes, 58 seconds; Dan Mohney of Clearfield, second, 45 minutes, 56 seconds; and Martin Whitaker of Curwensville, third, 46 minutes, 54 seconds. Age 60 and older, Richard Butler of Clearfield, first, 54 minutes, 56 seconds.Dillon Davis, 12, of Curwensville received the male “middle of the pack” award with a time of 46 minutes, 9 seconds.The winners of the female race divisions are age 14 and younger, Rebecca Johnson of Curwensville, first, 51 minutes, 3 seconds; Morgen Turner of Clearfield, second, 58 minutes, 50 seconds; and Sara Stetler of Clearfield, third, 66 minutes, 15 seconds.Ages 15-19, Gwenn Porter of Clearfield, first, 45 minutes, 10 seconds; Johanna Ryan of Clearfield, second, 54 minutes, 43 seconds; and Jennie Ryan of Clearfield, third, 54 minutes, 54 seconds. Ages 20-29, Talisa Dimmick of Curwensville, first, 52 minutes, 13 seconds; and Rachel Kester of Curwensville, second, 63 minutes, 49 seconds.Ages 30-39, Jana Emmer of Curwensville, first, 54 minutes, 20 seconds.
