Whalen, who has charge of St. Francis Xavier Catholic church:“Miss Dora Debo Whalen, the clever young actress of Locust Gap, known to vaudevillians as Dora Debo, two days ago went to housekeeping in her own New York flat,a cozy corner built for two. On May 30th Miss Whalen told her manager that her short but brilliant vaudeville career was over, that the wedding bells had rung down her curtain for good. (Many blankety blank phrases from her manager).Miss Walhen was married to Robert McClure in St. Louis* church, Brooklyn, but Mrs. McClure’s parents kept the marriage secret till the day of the first solemn mass of her son, the Rev. W. W. Whalen, now stationed at Gettysburg. Mrs. McClure said the stage asks an actress to give up to much. I’d rather cook my own dinner. wearing a wedding ring, than play for the kindest and biggest matinee audience in the land, ’ declared the young bride.”UJSwag a hlt; infl:EThrpaijentsessconexpCO-(ingJinghofEmstrlt;M.ton(Ronerthejussch
