H.the)TA,m,isid-adere-toFoot-Pads Arrested.Our readers will remember that a short time ago a commercial traveler named Frank Roger* was mysteriously robbed, whilestopping over a few days in our city.No trace of the robbers could be obtained at the time, but the officers of justice nevertheless continued the search. A number of persons were suspected, but evidence did not prove sufficient for their arrest. At length Mr. Henry O’Neil, of Parker Bros, store, concluded that he, would attempt to unravel the mystery! Complete success has crowned his efforts which have resulted in the arrest last evening of Chas. Urie, Anson Mosher and Geo. Losey as principals and accomplices in the job.The story of the rebbery, and subse quern efforts .f Mr. O’Neil to unravel tbe mystery, are as follows.O Neil is a particular friend of Frank Rogers, and has ever since the robbery been on the lookout for the guilty parties He had reason to suspect that a gambler by the name of Chas Urie knew more of j the affair than some others, and therefore laid a trap to catch him.Urie spends most of his time in loafing around the Diamond saloon, and has a Iriend in the person of Anson Mosher a rirtman on the Dakota Central R’y (J^Seii gradually worked himself into the confidence of the latter, and soon found out that Mosher knew most of the facts concerning the robbery and the participants there in. O’Neil at once offered Mosher a large sara of money if he would divulge all the facts in the case, which offer Mosher accepted, and told the following story.“On Tuesday afternoon 16th of January 1 met Frank Rogers. Observed that he was very drunk, and was in cempany with Geo. Losey, who stuck close by him, claim mg to be taking him out of the reach of another man, with whom Roger* had had a previous difficulty. I also saw Lucy and Rogers together going into tbe “Gem” saloon. Afterwards saw Rogers accompanied by Urie going in direction of lumber yards, and concluded to follow them at a distance. Saw Urie knock Rogers down and then I went forward and accused him of attempting to commit a robbery and threatened that unless he divided the proceeds I would inform against him to tbe officers. Urie claimed that he got no money but had captured a gold watch.”I pon this evideuce the three men, Urie Mosher andTLosey, were arrested and Placed in the county jail. Urie claims to be innocent. Mosher will appear as a witness. Losey claims to have been acquainted with Urie previous to the day of robbery. The case will be tried tfiis morning at 10 o’clock in Parker hall A. B. Melville appears for the territory, and C. M. Wilson, with Reed Vol. rath for defendants.
