City Turns Over Park Site Donated by Bedell Moore TO LANDSCAPE Southern Pacific to Offer Services Of Expert Promise of co-operation on the part of the Southern Pacific lines in furnishing a landscape expert to lay out Moore's Park was prom ised Del Rio service clubs here Wednesday night at a meeting of the park trustees At the trustees meeting Wednesday night, the 99- year lease of the park plot to the clubs from the city was signed and approved According to the terms of the lease, the plot which consists of about three and one-fourth acres on an island in San Felipe Creek, north of town, will be turned over to the service clubs to be managed according to a policy to be deter mined by them The service clubs, consisting of the American Legion, Rotary Club and Lions Club, are given the power to name another organiza tion as a director of the park in case one of the present organi zations becomes inactive While the trustees of the park are given full power to maintain and develop the park as they see fit, they state that recommendations of the citi zens are earnestly solicited Plan Swim Pool the landscape gardener from the Southern Pacific Lines is ex pected to be here later this month to survey the island and plan the landscaping After the landscaping has been completed, a swimming pool and playground is planned Plans for raising funds for the project have not been completed, according to members of the board of trustees, but the American Le gion has a fund of $600 available
