Collins and daughter, Miss Fannie, and Mr. and Mrs. C. II. Ilall, of Oneco, and two of Mrs. Hall’s sisters, Mrs. A. A. Green, of Bynumville, Mo., and Mrs. Emma Montague, of Norway, Iowa, and Mr. E. C. Mans, of Sarasota, boarded the noon train last Wednesday and ran down to Sarasota; chartered the launch Ada, with Cupt. Otto Smith in command, and were soon speeding our way down the Sarasota bay. After a very pleasant run m of about two hours, we lauded at ylt; Mr. L. A. Boot, the veteran bee man of Medina, Ohio, Messrs. Boot and Shumard are experimenting on the island with the Caucasian strain of bees, and if their merits will justify it, they will place on their list of queens this strain. Mr. Boot has a very nice little cottage, which lit* very generously opened up for our accommodation. Mr. and Mrs. Shumard also allowed us to occupy a part of their house.We were made to feel perfectly at home by Mr. Boot and the entire Shumard family.
