Evidence Is Accumulating to Prove the Guilt of the Murderer. The Interest Does Not Seem to Flag Any. Lee Rosenbush, a Clothing Merchant of Co lumbus, Knows Something—Saw Walling and Pearl in the Union Central Depot, Cin cinnati, January 31. Interest in the Pearl Bryan mur der case does not seem to decrease. Every scrap of new evidence is read with avidity. The HEeRALp has a lit tle new evidence which it is pleased to place before its readers. On last Thursday the Cincinnati Commercial Gazette published the statement that on Friday evening,Jan 31, sometime between 2 and 4 p. m., private Watchman Kinney had seen in the waiting room of the Union Central Depot, Cincinnati, a couple whom he afterward recognized Mr. Walling as being the man, and judging from the description he believes the girl was Pearl Bryan. When it is remem bered that Walling had repeatedly made the statement that he had not seen Pearl Bryan since Wednesday, Jan. 29, it will be seen that this was good evidence. ee Rosenbush, the clothing merchant of this city, when he read this article, remembered be ing in Cincinnati on that day, and of being in the Union Central depot at that time, and of having seen a cou ple in the station together, which had attracted his special attention. He immediately wrote a letter to Chief Philip Deitsch, Cincinnati, telling him some of the facts mentioned above, and saying that the couple he had seen were in the lower waiting room, etc., and telling the chief that if the watchman corroborated his statement, he would be glad to fur nish him all the information in his possession. That for the present he would write under an assumed name, as he was in business here and did not desire to be drawn into the affair, unless his evidence was benefical to the prosecution. This morning he received the fol lowing reply from the chief, which shows that Mr. Rosenbush’s evi dence is valuable. It will be remem bered that Watchman Kinney had not stated in which waiting room the couple was seated, but he cor roborates Mr. Rosenbush’s state ment: Cincinnati, O., Feb’y. 28, ‘96. He describes him just as you do in your letter. This is a matter of great impor tance and I am anxious to get all the assistance I can from people who have any evidence bearing upon the subject.
