The Seville schools being closed the past week on account of diph theria, manager Ritter of the local high school basketbal teams, was once more forced to secure emer gency games to satisfy the girls and boys of RHS. With the telephone as a means of communication games were finally scheduled at the Wadsworth town ship Centralized school on the con dition that the Wadsworth buoys be allowed two outside players to take the places of high school players who had recently quit school. On aenvnk of the WoC. 8. bukt ing, we were politely informed that only one basketball player remained in school and it would be necessary for the team to play four ringera. The boys of R. H. S. not to be dis couraged by such little things ap peared upon the floor at 8:15 only to find five outside players outweigh ing them at least thirty pounds to the man. After much arguing it developed that the expense money wold not be payed unless the game was played. Thus, in on game filled to the bru with roughness the wearers of the red and white came out at the small end of the 27 to 37 score. It is to be regretted that some High Schools will schedule games with others and then place an In dependent team upon the floor while their own High School players warm the benches near the sidelines. We do not understand how the one play er can remain in a school with such treatment unless he prefers to be a bench warmer. In Rittman the town people get to use the gymnasium, but the privi lege of outside games is for the school pupils only. The Rittman high school girls in the best game they have played this year defeated the Wadsworth Cen tralized basketball team by the score of 12 to 10
