It savs that (hiring the pleasant weather which wo had previous to the last few days of cold, the frogs in a pond in that vicinity wore lured from their winter quarters, and poked their heads above water to enjoy a little sunshine, and that the cold snap succeeded so suddenly that the pond was frozen over with ice, confining them by the neck in their awkward position. What adds enormity to this remarkableaffair is, that the boys, mischievous fellows, cruelly skate the heads of the frogs off for amusement. This act of cruelty on the part of the boys must be death to the poor frogs,—Philu. Ledger.
