The Schwegel brothers signed a contract with the Retail Clerks local No. 344 bringing it the sanction of organized labor.Nick Schwegel was discharged from the service in December, 1945. Prior to his discharge he spent 17 months on the naval ship YC-1124 in the South Pacific. He was a ship’s cook and butcher 2nd class. The Schwegel family has long been associated with the food marketing business having conducted a store at 7th Spring for 14 years. Mr. Schwegel brought from the old country a knowledge of the business which he taught his sons. About thirty-five years ago the establishment now recently purchased by the brothers was originally known as the Aldinger-Schwegel Grocery store. Al Schwegel himself then delivered groceries via horse and wagon from this same concern which he and his brother Nick of late purchased.Within the same building but in a separate department the store offers hardware and implements for sale to the public. This is in connection with their meat and grocery business. The ai boys will ets can bers of t ice the i ett Johi wax wit! i be someLeath Meml In M*iibecame La n dolt day Feb at the p ical Chu siding ( ReverencA rechome of Melvin Immedla the cour honey r oil, both national members local NcThe elt; arily at Wood I they wil in Hartf
