There arc few it any who have spent a longer I lime in this section. She was a re-markable woman .having retained her faculties, until the last. Tno early days had inculcated frugality in living and developed the spirit of neighborly helpfulness, and while amply able In later life Co enjoy any of it's ton;forts and ways slie preferred the simple life, but in her way she was helpful, doing many nn act of kindness and deed of charity without ostentation. She made and held friends among the younger set, having a quaint dry humor thit made her a pleasant companion, and once your friend always ynnr friend caused those who acquired this distinction to prize it highly.She was devoted to her family, especially taking a great interest in the welfare of her grandchildren. Since thf loss of her husband hi January of 1921 she has gradually failed 111 health, the chief cause of death though being extreme age us she iras SS.Tho fuueval was held at the residence on Sunday afternoon at ‘2:20 and was attended by her remaining daughter. Mrr. Curtis Carpenter of Cuclfr, Ohio, and many grandchildren who live in this county. The ; remain* were taken to Rensselaer where they were laid beside these of her husband in the Weston cemetery, The Rev. Crowder conducted the funeral service and Mrs. Paul Hanson who sang at Mr. English’s• aI funeral rendered tlie same music, j Mr. and Mrs. English had spent nearly seventy years together fn this community.
