YOUNGSTOWN—Head coach George Hunter, not one to sit on the laurels of the first winning season ever in their short nine-year history, has completed the soccer schedule at Youngstown State University for the up coming year. The Penguins were 7-6-0 in 1982. Included in the 13-game schedule are seven home contests (one of which will be included as part of a doubleheader with the football team) with six road contests taking the Penguins from Alliance College to Slippery Rock State. The Penguins open with two road contests, at Alliance on Sept. 24 and Baldwin-Wallace on Sept. 28, then will make their home debut on Oct. 1 against Geneva College. Other home contests include West Liberty State (as part of the soccer football doubleheader) on Oct. 8; the University of Pittsburgh on Oct. 12; Walsh College on Oct. 19; Hiram College on Oct. 26; Ohio State University on Oct. 30; and the season finale against Gannon on Nov. 5. On the road, the Penguins will travel to Washington Jefferson on Oct. 5; Ashland College on Oct. 15; Mount Union College on Oct. 22; and Slippery Rock on Nov. 1 as “ SONS WE WALKER CANS 18 - Howland senior Jeff Walker led the Howland scoring attack against the rival Harding Panthers last week with 18 points in the game, 10 of which came in the final quarter.
