Dispatches tell of the killing* of G W Gillon in Grenada county by Price Magness. Six years ago Magness killed a neighbor, Allen Spencer, about some hogs that got in his field. The strongest efforts were put forth to and final-]y did free him from the consequences of this deed, which many believed to be murder. The killing of Gillon has aroused the people and it is believed that this time conviction is certain. The judge has overruled all dilatory motions and the trial is on at Grenada this week. Magness was formerly sheriff of Webster county and made a fine officer. He is hot tempered and easily provoked.
