Coahvell, \vas born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, August 23, 1837 and died at Dickens, Iowa, January 23. 1011, being therefore 73 years and 5 months of age.When six years of age she moved with her parents from Nova Scotia to Racine county, Wisconsin, and from thence to ^Valworth county. At the age of fourteen they moved to Johnstown, Wisconsin, where on November 22, 1859. she was united in marriage to II. D. Janes.In the year of 1855, Mi. and Mrs. I b Janes left Wisconsin and settled in a Minnesota; in 1876 returned to s Johnstown, Wis., where they lived |d two years; from thence they came to Crawford county, Iowa, where they lived for four years, and from there to Clay county, Iowa, their present home. 11To this union were born five child- ( ren, three boys and two girls, Charles, t Fred, Mrs. Nellie Pierce, Thomas and jc Mrs. Nina Brand, all of whom survive |' her.In the year of 1868 she was converted and uuited with the church and has been a member of the Congregational chureh of Dickens, Iowa, si nee 1895.She was a faithful Christian, a loving and devoted wife and mother and lived a life of self saerltice and helpfulness, ever ministering to the'1 needs and the wants of the family and those around her.She leaves to mourn her departure, a husband and three sons and two9daughters, two brothers, thirteengrandchildren and one great-grandchild, a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held in theCongregational church Thursday at10:30 a. in.. conducted by the pastor,iiev. C. E. Waudby, assisted by Rev.Steele, of Krldyville, Iowa, and I lev.E. .1. Hawks, of the M. E. church.The.following out of town relativesand members of llie family werepresent at. the funeral;Mr. and Mrs. C. it. .lanes and Fred.lanes, of Napoleon, N.
