FOUR INJURED IN HEAD ON COLLISIONA serious accident in which four were injured, one seriously, occurred near the second mile crossing, south of Patoka about 11:00 pr m. Monday night when the Oakland coupe owned and driven by Howard Riley, accompanied by James Cox and Bill Carter of Patoka, collided head on with a model T Ford sedan driven by a Chicago schol teacher, and accompanied by her sister, alsoa Chicago teacher.The two ladies were enroute to spend the Xmas Holidays at their home in Anna and the Ford was loaded with baggage.The accident was said to have been caused by a car with triler attached having stopped on the pavement, and when the Chicago car attempted to pass meeting the Riley car which was going north.The two ladies were sent to Patoka in another car and were then taken to the Centralia Hospital in the Linton Beery Ambulance, where one was fiound to be seriously injured the other less seriously.While Riley received only a slight cut on the face, James Cox received a bad cut on the upper lip, requiring several stitches. Carter was unhurt.Both cars were badly damaged.
