November is)At the conclusion of the second trial o! the case of the United States against George Hinton Henry, which was held yesterday, ( in which the defendant was charged with rciminal libel and contempt of court, the former Hot Springs editor was found guilty, given a sentence of 3U days in jail, a fine of $100. and placed under $1,000 bonds to keep the peace for two years.At the trial of the first case the only charge against the defendant was that of libel, and after the jury had disagreed Commissioner Coffer ordered a new trial for yesterday. In the meantime another charge. | t.hat of contempt of court, was lodged i against the defendant. It is not known here whether the trial yesterday was by jury or not. as the wire to I.eroy Torier, the defendant's attorney, did not give the detailsAccording to tLe decision of the com miasioner, in placing the editor under bends to keep the peace, he must remain in jail until such time :i- he can furnish the re- | quired amount. From the wire received j yesterday it is not known upon what counts be was convicted and punished.
