That Killer, killer, thriller of modern American literature, “The Drunkard,” or “The Fallen Saved,” will be presented tonight at 8 o’clock on the stage of the Grand Theatre. The occasion will be the bi annual Rotary Club revue, with proceeds to go toward financing Christmas charity in Pecos, to de fray expenses of the band to El Paso Sun Carnival Jan. 1. Billed as a revival, with varia tions, of P. T. Barnum’s 1843 mas terpiece, with an all-star Holly wood cast, “The Drunkard” looms on the horizon as one of the most important events of Pecos’ 1939 entertainment year. Rotarians will cavort about the stage with rare abandon as they enact the 19th century meller drummer which shocked and also thrilled a nation. Ralph Williams as Mary, a charming and vivacious young maiden, and Bob Dean, weak but willing Edward, play the leading romantic roles, with able assistance from Richard Toll as Squire Cribbs, Raymon Pouncey, who plays a quadruple role, and others.
