all*_Mrs. C.D.B. King Dies; Wife of AmbassadorMrs. Charles D. B. King, 58, wife of the Liberian Ambassador to the United States, died at theEmbassy Saturday night after a long illness* Mrs. King became ill in Liberia while on a vacation with the Ambassador last February. She will lie in state at the chancery of theSixteenth street N.W.. from 11 a.m. Wednes-Mr*. Kin*. cjay untll n00nA native of Monrovia. Liberia, Mrs. King was the former Cecelia Adeline Cooper. She attended Morgan State College in Baltimore and came here in 1902 to attend Howard University. She received a B. A, degree in education there in 1906,Secretary to President.After her graduation from Howard. Mrs. King returned to Liberia and became secretary to the thenr Liberian president, Daniel Howard, r She held that position until 1912 when she and Mr. King, then at-I torney general of Liberia, were married. He became Secretary of State of Liberia during World re- war I.Mr. and Mrs. King became lce friends of President Wilson at the er* Versailles conference, and visited the United States as his guest* in 1919. While in Paris. Mr. King was elected President of Liberia ht7- and subsequently served four two-year terms.Returned in 1947,Mrs, King accompanied her as husband to this country again in n- 1947, when he was appointed Min-ke ister to the United States. He became ambassador in 1949.Besides her husband, she leaves a son. Cecil D, B. King, a member of the legal staff of the United Nations, and her mother, Mrs. Sarah E. Barclay of Monrovia.Mrs. King is also survived by two sisters, Miss Anna E, Cooper ak. of Liberia and Mrs, Magdeline L.Dennis, temporarily in Washing-ier ton, and two brothers, Charles la- E. Cooper, former Liberian con-iry sul general to Liverpool. England, and Henry R. Cooper, a Liberian senator.Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
